Harley In - Rinaldi Out
In the first of the off-season moves yesterday, Watford signed 28-year old left back Jon Harley to a two-year deal. Well respected at Burnley where he transferred after a loan from Sheffield United, Harley is said to be an excellent set-piece taker, a skill which should meld well with the Hornet's style of play.
To make room for him on the team bus, Watford terminated Douglas Rinaldi's contract effective yesterday. The Brazilian midfielder joined the squad in January 2007 to great fanfare, but found few playing opportunities including zero appearances this last season.

Hornets Up for Sale!
Apparently the club has been in talks which have fallen through, but both Chairman Graham Simpson and Lord Ashcroft, the club's largest shareholder, are looking to sell their shares if a buyer can be found.
This is bad news for any signings this summer as it is unlikely that the club will want to tie up funds on the brink of a sale. A statement from the Chairman is anticipated tomorrow.
