Rob Kiernan is on his way out, while Ross Jenkins & Adam Thompson have been signed through 2014.
All three came up through the academy, but Kiernan spent the last season on loan to Kilmarnock, Yeovil Town, Bradford City, & Wycombe Wanderers while Jenkins & Thompson saw 19 & 10 league appearances, respectively.
An American with no background at all in soccer (sorry, football), namely me, has adopted Watford to root for. Why? Read on.

The Gift That Keeps On Giving
With former Hornet Ashley Young moving from Aston Villa to Manchester United, Watford stands to reap an add-on stemming from Young's transfer to the Birmingham club in 2007.
Watford will gain 15% of all amounts above £9.65 mil. With the reported transfer fee in the £15 - 20 mil range, that could mean £800K - £1.5 mil for the club.

Dundee Midfielder Signed
Craig Forsyth is the first player in through the transfer window this summer. The attacking midfielder comes to us from Scottish First Division side Dundee (not to be confused with SPL side Dundee United).
Forsyth has been working on his chops in the Scottish Third Division (level 4) the last three years on loan to Montrose and Arbroath.

Best Wishes Malky
Of course, the biggest news of the summer would hit while I was on the road and armed with nothing but a BlackBerry.
Well, I've overcome my techno-lameness long enough to wish Malky the best of luck with Cardiff City following his resignation this week.
Without a doubt, Malky's done more with the talent dealt him than just about any manager could. His departure will be much more of a blow than that of Danny Graham. I wait with trepidation to learn who will succeed him. Succeed, because it will be unlikely the next gaffer can replace him.

£3 Million . . . Do I hear 4?
The bid for Danny Graham has been upped to £3 million, this time from just-promoted Swansea City. This is an increase over QPR's £2.5m. Norwich? Norwich?
Hodson Signs Through 2014
Defender Lee Hodson's services have been secured for the next three years, the club announced yesterday. The 19-year-old has been a first team fixutre since Jay DeMerit's eye injuries in 2010 and has three caps for the Northern Ireland squad.
