Both squads trotted out some fresh legs as the second half progressed with Johnson coming in for McAnuff and Henderson spelling Ellington. This proved crucial as Hendo picked up the equalizing and winning goals after Southampton took the lead on Dyer's 20-yard goal at minute 69.
Henderson caught the pass off Lloyd Doyley and left-footed a shot into the net from 6-yards out to tie the match. It looked like a draw until the 90th minute when a foul on Marlon King set up a free kick from Adam Johnson that found its way to Hendo who socked away the winner.
Williamson, Smith & Henderson all picked up yellow cards. Poom nabbed two saves and Southampton keeper, Kelvin Davis beat back eight, but was still overwhelmed by Watford's attack.
The Hornets take their winning ways to Cardiff City Wednesday. Kickoff is 3:45 St. Louis time.
