Watford 2-1 Ipswich Town 6-3-3 21 pts.

I was in seminars in NYC Tuesday, but caught most of the match on the BlackBerry.

The match saw the return of Tommy Smith & Tamas Priskin to Vicarage Road and Tommy felt right at home, busy on most plays in the first half.

But it was a pair of late first half goals for Watford that earned the Hornets their 3 points. The first, a right footer from six yards out by Stephen McGinn (Martin Taylor asst.) came in the 41st minute. The crowd barely had time to sit down when Marvin "Score-dell" doubled the lead two minutes later with a header from six yards out off an Andrew Taylor cross.

David Norris made a game of it in the 61st minute, but Watford held on to propel themselves into a clear third place in the standings.

The next match is Saturday, October 23 as Scunthorpe visits Vicarage Road. Kickoff is 9:00 am St. Louis time.
