Don't let the opposition in on the secret, but apparently scoring early just pisses the Hornets off. Danny Ward headed in the first goal of the day at the 17 minute mark and Fernando Forestieri answered a minute later. Watford never let up after that point.
Daniel Pudil poked a rebound into the net with two minutes left in the half and Watford continued to have scoring chances through out the second half as a clumsy Huddersfield defense repeatedly turned the ball over in their own half.
None of these amounted to goals, but they didn't have to. All-in-all, I'd rather see chances without goals than playing for a safe draw.
The win puts the Hornets in 5th going into the two-week international break. The next match is Saturday, October 19th at Vicarage Road against Derby County. Kickoff is 7:00 am (gulp!) St. Louis time.
