Another day, another long bout of added time topped off by a penalty goal that screws us.
A penalty kick by Ross McCormack in the seventh (?!) minute of added time sank Watford's hopes of walking away with another point in the standings Wednesday.
The Hornets took the lead in the tenth minute on their own penalty shot when Stephan McPhail tangled with Jobi McAnuff, giving Tommy Smith the penalty goal.
Five minutes later Jay Boothroyd took a Chris Burke cross from 18 yards out to left-foot the equalizer. Cardiff dominated the match with nine shots on goal, but Watford held steady until the last minute when McCormack's goal did Watford in.
The rough & tumble match saw four yellow cards shown to the Watford squad (DeMerit, Mariappa, Cork, & McAnuff).
The next match is at Ipswitch tomorrow, Saturday March 21. Kickoff is 10 am St. Louis time.
