OK - so it's the women's league but pro is pro.
The St. Louis Athletica hosted the LA Sol today at Hermann Field, about a mile from my house. It was tentative match with (by my count) only four shots on goal from either side including a late penalty shot. No surprise it was nil-nil.
I seem to pick the good seats at these affairs: my first live soccer match I sat next to a Hall-of-Famer, this one I sat right in front of a guy from the Sol's front office. I'm hoping to be the half-time show at my first MLS match.
The Athletica usually play at SIU-Edwardsville and I'm hoping to catch another match out there.
