The Missus was not willing to give me the play-by-play as we drove to Columbia Saturday so I had to sneak peeks as we were stopped on the trip.
Once again Tommy Smith had a hand (foot) in all of Watford's scoring - opening the festivities by taking a short dump pass from Danny Graham and plopping into the net in minute 24.
A corner kick was headed in and saved, but Alex Baptiste's rebound drew Blackpool even eleven minutes into the second half.
Smith's cross off an Adrian Mariappa throw-in set up Tom Cleverley beautifully for a tap-in to put Watford up 2-1, but a short cross gave Gary Taylor-Fletcher the chance he needed to score from inside the box and Watford left two points on the pitch as they said goodbye to Blackpool.
The next match is today in League Cup action as Leeds United hosts the Hornets, the two squads meeting for the first time since the playoff match that sent Watford to the Premiership in 2006. Kickoff is 1:45pm St. Louis time.
