FA Cup: Scunthorpe United (1-0)

The Hornets move on to Round 4 on substitute Grzegorz Rasiak's 67th minute goal in a match unmarred by the presence of exciting football.

Momentum swung back & forth in the first half with Scunthorpe looking the better side. An early save by Scott Loach on a Martin Woolrich shot kept the match scoreless into the second half.

John-Joe O'Toole earned a yellow card early in the second half and was replaced by Rasiak an hour into the game. The Hornets stayed lucky when Grant McCann's shot bounced off the post a few minutes later.

Finally, in minute 67, Watford converted a corner kick that found its way to Adrian Mariappa whose pass to Rasiak set up the goal from 6 yards out. An ugly win, but a win nonetheless. The draw for the Fourth Round was scheduled for tomorrow, but several of today's matches were postponed due to frozen pitches.

The next match for the Hornets is Friday, January 9 at Reading. Kickoff is 2:00 pm St. Louis time.
