Quiet Week

I was in Vegas for most of last week. Fortunately it was Internationals Week, unfortunately the only match I saw was Ireland and Kazakhstan, (Kyrgyzstan? - who knows?).

Surprisingly, given the squad now has 39 professionals on it, there were no moves while I was gone. The two major Watford-related stories were:

The release of Troy Deeney - served 11 weeks of a ten-month sentence for a bar fight earlier this year. The club confirmed earlier they would be retaining his services.

Sean Dyche to the England U-21 squad - The former Watford skipper, unceremoniously released at the start of the season by the new owners despite the highest finish in three years, has landed as part of the back-office personnel for the England National program.

And if you are keeping tabs on past managers:

Malky Mackay - Cardiff City (Championship)
Brendan Rodgers - Liverpool (Premier)
Aidy Boothroyd - Northampton Town (League Two)
