Bristol City (2-4) 7-5-13 26 pts.

An early start and an early goal on Boxing Day by Nicky Maynard put Bristol City ahead and they never looked back.

Just 23 seconds into the match Maynard found the back of the net from 12 yards out on an assist by Michael McIncloe. 28 minutes later it was Ivan Sproule with the assist as Maynard got his second goal.

The Robins continued to dominate the first half but the score was held to 0-2 at Vicarage Road.

A glimmer of hope shone for the Hornets when Grzegorz Rasiak, back in the line-up today, drew Watford within one at the 48 minute mark with a right-footer from 12 yards, but Marvin Elliott took the lead back to two on a poor play by keeper Scott Loach three minute later. Elliott got an unwanted second goal as a Tommy Smith shot went off his head into his own goal making the score 2-3.

Watford played for the drawing goal but were outclassed. Lee Johnston found the net in added time for the Robins' fourth goal and Bristol City walked away with three points in the standings leaving Watford only five points clear of the relegation zone.

The Hornets travel to Loftus Road Sunday, December 28 to face QPR on just two day's rest. Kickoff is 9:00 am St. Louis time.
