Triggered by the departure last week of Chairman Graham Simpson and the fact that he is working without a signed contract, daily newspapers reported Saturday that Brendan Rogers was looking to leave after only a handful of matches.
In the press conference after the Hornets' 3-2 loss to Birmingham City Saturday, Rogers denied the rumor and stated he will be signing later this week.
Another report from News of the World, believable given the club's financial situation but upsetting if true, is that Tommy Smith will be shopped. A fan favourite and engine of Watford's rare successful outings this years, Smith has only 18 months remaining on his contract and would be likely to bring £1 million in January's transfer market.
