Kickoff was pushed back to 11:15 (I think to accommodate TV broadcast in the UK).
A mind-fart (Mart?) by Poom lead to an early lead by the Tractor Boys and set the Hornets back on their heels for the first half. An easy clearance by Poom ended up directed at Counago who said thank-you-very-much and plopped the ball in the net in the second minute. Other chances by Ipswich Town presented themselves as the first half progressed, but none could be converted to a goal.
Aidy made the right move at the half, replacing Academy call-up Jordan Parkes with John-Joe O'Toole. The attacking mid-fielder got things rolling in the 59th minute when his blocked shot lead to Lee Williamson's in-swinging corner. The corner found John Eustace's head and the ball found the goal for the equalizer.
In the 86th minute O'Toole got his own goal as he dinked in a rebound of Jobi McAnuff's shot to score the winner. All-in-all a good recovery from a weak first half.
Watford goes into the international break in eighth place. Next match is Saturday, September 13 at Sheffield Wednesday. Kick-off is 9:00 am St. Louis time.
